Geelhoutkloof Private Nature Reserve

ThabayaTholo Bush Camp. 3 Units. No electricity, gas & pariffin power included

Description

The camp consists of three luxury units, each with a double bed and two single beds (bunk- style), thus accommodating a maximum of twelve guests. The three units each have a car port. In keeping with the feeling of a bush camp, all power is either gas or paraffin.

All units have tiled showers and flushing toilets, a well appointed albeit small kitchen including stove and fridge and outside braai area from where feeding of game can be seen, breakfast or a sundowner enjoyed.

Though ThabayaTholo (meaning “ Mountain of the Kudu” in Pedi, the local Northern- Sotho dialect) is self catering, all gas, paraffin, cutlery, crockery, bedding and other linen is supplied.

Water comes from a borehole powered by a solar panel pump and is safe for human consumption. Each unit is supplied with one bag of wood per day. Additional wood as well as ice may be bought from the camp manager.

During and just after the rain season ( January - May) 4x4 wheel drive vehicles are strongly recommended.
Please phone before hand for current information.

The reserve hosts many species of game including Giraffe, Eland, Kudu, Impala, Blue- wildebeest, smaller buck as well as the rare and protected 'Eugene Marais Cycad'. 'Brown Hyenas, Jackals, Serval and Aardvark' are also in abundance and guests are advised to keep a lookout for holes when driving! There are two dams with braai / picnic facilities for those who are keen bird spotters or anglers.

Guest’s time is their own. No game rangers forcing you to go on a game drive! As in the Kruger National Park, guests do their own drives in their own vehicles when and how it suits them.
